So, my less than 6 month old 2tb My Passport Ultra has stopped working at all. I mean it is not getting recognized now by any system. When it stopped copying anything, I tried copying my data from the drive to a system, it didn’t work. Both tests under WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic failed. Crystal Disk info also displayed a caution sign. Now WD is offering me to rma it. But I want to make sure that all data in the drive is really gone. Is there any way to do that considering it is not being recognized by any system?
This is my second wd drive in the past 1 year which failed within 6 months of purchase. WD has really degraded their quality standards.
