WD EX2 Wake Up from Standby Mode

Hi,

I have a new 2 bay 4tb WD EX2 NAS Drive. In the settings options in WDMyCloudEX2 I have configured the Energy Saver Power Schedule to turn off the NAS between 12AM to 2AM.

Today morning when I woke up both the LEDs were off at 6AM and I could not acess the NAS drive from WDMyCloudEX2.

Am I right in assuming that the NAS drive should shutdown & startup automatically based on the setting in Power Schedule?

You would be correct.  The EX2 should/will shut down at shutdown time, and awake at start time.  I’ve noted since I put mine on a schedule that it works 95% of the time.  Sometimes it forgets to wake up, or shutdown.  Most the time it works like a champ.

Very disappointed if your thing about 95% reliability is right. Bought WD for its quality and realibility hoping I will get the best in the market for the price I’ve paid…

Hoping to get an official answer from WD representative.

i’ve the same problem in my EX2.

95%a t the times it doesn´t wake up.

Can somebody from support take a look at this ? I’m facing the exact same problem on a ex2 on 2.30.193

I can’t even use WoL packet to wake it up, I have to plug it in, then unplug it. I don’t want the HDD running all night when I don’t need them, and I need WoL when I want to access them while traveling.
