Just bought a WD Elements 2TB to use with Apple Time Machine. I cannot get Disk Utility to see the drive to reformat it, either through my WiFi router or connected to my MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016), running macOS Sierra v 10.12.6. Any thoughts?

Yes. I resolved it on my own. Not sure what the issue was, but when I tried the device on my power/video/USB adapter it didn’t want to work. Tried again with a USB hub, and also turning machine off and back on, and the WD drive appeared.
