I just purchased an Elements 1TB drive. It seems to work fine in Win 7 Pro.
I can copy files to the drive without any difficulty. In fact, I completed a full image
backup to the Elements drive using the Acronis True Image application in Win 7!
However, I’m having trouble using the Elements drive when I use an old
bootable CD to run Acronis True Image. Previous WD drives (e.g. My Passport)
have been accessible and usable with the bootable CD and Acronis without any problem.
This Elements drive, however, causes a reboot after a few commands in the
bootable CD version of Acronis. The CD boots Acronis fine, but the presence
of the Elements drive always eventually causes the reboot.
Is there something I can do to the Elements drive to cure this problem?
