WD Discovery update fails

I just purchased a WD My Passport 4TB drive. I installed the WD Discovery software on the drive and it informed me there was an update, ok, why if it is installing from the internet it can’t install the latest version I don’t know. So I selected to install the update, but it failed. Not only did it fail, the first version is now unaccessible and it will not let me uninstall it either… Terrible… I need multiple large drive for my business so if I don’t get a reasonable solution to this now I am taking this drive back and never purchasing WD again.
Is there a solution?
