WD Blue WDS100T2B0B not recognised in Dashboard (via USB)

Hi,

I just got the WD Blue 1TB M.2 and have it connected via a front USB 3.0 header (on NZXT H500, with an MSI Z97S KRAIT Edition motherboard). The caddy it is housed in is a Silverstone MS09. Windows 10 sees it just fine and I’ve been able to format it in Disk Management. It seems to be working 100% well (no problems copying files to and from it) but when I launch the WD SSD Dashboard it doesn’t recognise the drive.

I only got this for a backup drive for my main Samsung 860 Evo 1TB 2.5" SATA drive. Could it be that the two different software SSD programs (Samsung & WD) are conflicting? I also noticed that this particular drive model isn’t listed on their specifications page. Is it actually supported?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

SOME USB adapters will mask the WD drive info. Try opening the PC and connecting it to a SATA port and see if the dashboard will see it then.

Thanks for the help, I’ll try that!
I do have a free M2 slot on the board.
