So I’ve built a PC over the weekend, everything is running fine and working except for the Hard Drive. I’ve installed my OS onto an SSD which is running perfectly fine, shows up in the BIOS, device manager & disk management however the HDD only shows in the BIOS & device manager, not a sign of it anywhere in the disk management and I can’t access it anywhere. I’ve check all of the cables, I’ve made sure all of the drivers are updated & I checked command prompt to check the disk list but again only the SSD shows up. Hoping somebody could help me fix this problem
Hello,
Since the drive is showing on the BIOS, check again on disk management and check if unit is showing with no partition.
If the WD Blue is a new drive, you will need to create a new partition on it.
This is what my Disk Management menu looks like, the drive isn’t to be seen anywhere unlike the SSD
Here’s what the Device Manager looks like, showing the drive but unable to actually use or access it
I’m having the same EXACT problem! I’ve tried everything and i still cant figure it out.
I am having this same issue with the same model number. I cannot find help anywhere on the internet with this issue, they all assume you can access the drive in disk management or other places… Also I am running Windows Server 2012 Essentials if that makes a difference
If you’re talking about the WD Black² then you need to install the accompanying software to install the spinning portion of the drive and see it. Check out this KBA.
