WD Backup won't install

Trying to move my data to a new Windows 10 computer. When installing WD Backup it gets to the point of asking me to do a first backup or restore. Then it says “No backup targets found”. WD Security, Drive Utilities, Discovery and Unlocker all work fine and I can see the drive in Explorer. WD Backup doesn’t show up in the Start Menu or Apps.

Logs seem to indicate it never got fully installed. Any ideas?

Hi sjay1000,

You can refer to the link mentioned below in order to fix the WD Backup issue.

https://support-en.wd.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7755

The problem was that COM+ could not talk to the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator. Although there are solutions in the Microsoft Windows forum they were not successful. It wasn’t a configuration issue, some elements were missing from the preinstalled Windows. The solution was to reinstall Windows.

Hi thanks for sharing the solution :slightly_smiling_face:
