Is there a way/place to get it? I found the notification posting of v.1.03.49, but it didn’t have a link to downlaod it. Based on what I’ve read, that may be the safest to update to (mine is 1.03.29_B). Or is there a different recommendation than the current? Thanks!
Thanks, guys. Now, if only I could get the WD Live Play Plus to recognize the update files on my usb drive. Put them in the root of the drive, turned unit on, and nothing. Three different USB drives (flash/thumb drives). Any thoughts?

You have to download the rollback files from the page below. They have been specially edited for rollback.
Okay, thanks for the additional link, which appears to be better. Frankly, I haven’t tried any of these, as I’d gone ahead and was trying to install the latest version when I encountered the inability of my device to see the update files.
As I wouldn’t be rolling back to those posted versions - 1.03.49 is above mine - I presume that it also wouldn’t work as my attempt to update to the current version isn’t working. Should I try re-setting my unit to Factory Defaults?
Just to clarify here: I haven’t been able to try any of the update/rollback files because my device doesn’t appear to be seeing the firware update files. I’ve tried 3 different flash drives, of different sizes. Should I try re-setting to factory default settings, or any other thoughts on this issue? Thanks.
Probably using the wrong system. Make sure you have the file set that is correct for your WDTV Live versus Live PLUS.
I tried to rollback the firmware, I did everything step by step, word for word, and it bricked. It won’t do anything. I even tried the reset button. Any thoughts?
So what’s on the screen? Nothing?
Try hooking it up via the composite cable.
A failed firmware install usually brings up a screen indicating that no firmware is available and provides instructions how to correct it.
If I cycle the power the logo comes up. (HDMI) then it goes black. I’m trying to find my composite cables now…
Noting, I have all the cable to tv outputs hooked up and nothing… same thing… is it dead?
Don’t hook them all up a the same time… Unplug everything EXCEPT the composite cables.
Thank you… That was awesome…
Is everything working correctly now? If not what version were you trying to roll back to?
