Video streaming HD files slow on PS3

I have an EX2 which I stream froms from to my PS3 and I’ve recently over the past few months have been experiencing intermintent slowness in my videos.  The issue generally occurs during fast moving scenes and the video will chug and the audio becomes out of sync.  Usually pausing for a few seconds will fix things.  But over the course of watching the video it will occur at least 5-6 times.  The weird thing is that it’s happening on files that are around 1.5gb in size.  Not very big at all.  When I was streaming from my PC I had no issues at all with files this size.

My set up again involves, WD My Cloud EX2, and a PS3 connected via gigabit ethernet.  SO my question is where does this problem lay?  Is it in the EX2?  The PS3?  My network?  The files?  I’ve read some posts that mention turning off the Twonky server because it’s slow.  But doesn’t the Twonky server enable my PS3 to see the files from the EX2?

I’m at my wits end with this and am starting to consider just building a new PC media server to replace the EX2.  I have movies that are far larger than 1.5gb and I really would like to be able to watch them without issue.

Thanks

Hi there,

Does this happen with other media files or only the ones over 1.5 GB? Also what types of files are you trying to stream?
