USB Keyboard functionality

Is tehre a list with supported keyboards ?

Anybody had a wireless keyboard working ?

I use a Logitech Wii keyboard, which costs under $20 on Amazon.

Works well, no transmission drop-outs within 8-10 feet, compact size and has a layout that works pretty well with the Live units (there’s an OK button beside the arrow keys and the function keys are also there, meaning you can navigate and hit Home easily with just your right hand).

Battery life is good.  Had mine about… 6 months or so?  Still on the first battery.

Just wish I could buy spare USB receivers and have it plugged into my Hub and Wii at the same time!  :)

I use a Logitech diNovo Edge wireless keyboard successfully!

How can i change input language to cyrillic?

It’s possible to use android phone as wireless keyboard?

Thanks

Bye

Hi Alex,

Just noticed your thread regarding the use of your Logitech keyboard.

I have tried a Logitech diNovo Edge on my WDTV Live, but without any success. Did you do anything special apart from upgrading to the latest firmware to get yours to work? I’ve had success with a Logitech MK 250 wireless kb., but the diNovo won’t fire up.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Leigh (Toolman)

hey toolman,

I did nothing special to make my edge work.

I had b-rad’s firmware for a long time, and I decided to upgrade to 1.03.49 beta especially for the keyboard support.

Upgrade went smooth, player was working well, plugged my BT receiver supplied with the keyboard in the side USB port and voila, I was able to use the keyboard!

After upgrading again to 1.04.10 the keyboard works slower, ie you cannot type more than 3-4 letter per second.

I had some other problems with the upgrade but they disappeared mysteriously.

Now, in terms of advice, I can suggest making sure you keyboard works properly on a different system (pc, laptop) before trying it with the WD Live. It may have a discharged battery or it may not be properly connected to the receiver. However I doubt this is the problem.

If none of the above works, then you might want a paperclip reset, a factory reset, also a clod start (plug the cord out leave it a few minutes). Beyond this I have no clue.

Good luck!

Cheers.
