Upgrading hard drive using cloning software?

I’m new here. I got a wdbctl0040hwt and would like to replace the hard drive with a WD Red 6tb one. I have been reading the process to do so on here. Complicated. Has anyone tried just cloning the hard drive using software like Macrium Reflect?
