Replacing internal HDD with larger capacity

I am sure this has been asked previously but there is no real answer anywhere.

I have a Gen 2 Mycloud Mirror and want to replace the internal HDD with larger capacity WD RED drives.

How do i do this? The manual talks about replacing faulty drives but nothing about upgrading the storage capacity

I am backing up all my data to a portable drive.

Can i just take the two drives out, swap them for the new ones and rebuild the database? Has anyone done this and can explain how

Just fyi anyone who wants to do the same. I just did this today and it was pretty easy. First I backed up my current data to a portable drive

Then I changed the raid volume on the mirror to raid 0. If it is set to raid 1 it won’t recognise the larger drives

Then I removed old drives and replaced with newer larger red wd drives.

Changed the raid volume again.

Now I’m just finalising the copying of the older data.

It can be done but it’s time consuming!
