Storage size upgrade

Recently purchased a 2TB my cloud mirror ( raid 1) drive.

From what I understand I can remove both 2TB drives replace with 4TB drives and operate as 4TB raid drive.

Do I understand correctly?

Yes you should be able to upgrade just swap the drives out with the size you want if you want for 4TB total for raid 1 you need to change it with 2x4TB drives.

John thank you for the PDQ reply …

Great just what I wanted to hear.

do you know what the upper limit disk size for the WD cloud mirror drives?

They sell 2x6TB I think that’s the largest WD Red for sale currently. I would imagine any pair of HDs would work tho. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

One thing I noticed specially around this time of year with all the sales going on depending what model you get it might be cheaper to just by a whole new unit. Sometimes the drives alone can be more than the My Cloud Mirror with hard drives.

There is an option “expand capacity” in the menu “change raid modus” that guides you thru the installation. See pic - last point in the middle (German version).

John,
Already bought & paid for 4/2 TB drive. After change in retirements need additional raid 1 storage space.
