Upgrade EX4 from 2 to 4 drives without datalos?

Hi

I have the following configuration:

EX4 with two drives (4TB Red). I wanted to upgrade now the NAS with two more drives. (both also 4TB WD RED).

When ever I enter the  drive configuration I get the warning that all data on the drives will get lost if I go on.

Is that right?

I only whant to enlage the existing system, why should I need to format all disks for that?

Is the useage of Raid 10 on option?

I realy have no clue what to do, the disks are full and I am running out of space but can not use the newly inserted drives. Do I real have to by me another NAS to backup tha data, then restore it to the newly upgraded drive?

Please give me advise! I can not risk loosing data!

Thank you in advance

Hi EverQuest, what RAID type do you currently have?

Hi,
Currently I have two 4TB Red Drives configured in a raid 1.
the best Solution for me would be to enlarge The Partition to an 8TB Big partition ( Switch to Raid 10). But If you have a better Suggestion I am Open to it!
Thank you and greetings
