TimeMachineBackup can only connect with Guest

Hi,

I have a new 8TB My Cloud Home, I need to backup my MacBook Pro to it. I have installed the WD App onto the Mac. I can see the drive as a target for Time Machine, if I use Guest and no password, I can get a backup to work. However, the IT professional in me says “using guest and no password” means the share is not protected. How can I make the SMB (assume) share which provides the TimeMachineBackup have permissions setting Guest:None and myself (my email address) have the access?

I do not want the overhead of encrypting the whole backup
