Time Machine needs password for Registered User to start backup

We have a new MyCloud Home 6TB. I started to set up my wife’s MacBook to use it as the Time Machine device. When she selects the device, a box opens with her user name, and asks for a password for a “Registered User”. We have tried several passwords, but none work. We have also tried ‘blank’. How can we set, or reset this password in the Mac OS for Time machine to use this new device?
Thanks!

Hi @Pgclark1,

The configuration of Time Machine backups to a My Cloud Home prompts for the registered user name and password.

This is to inform you that Time Machine Backups cannot be configured with a Registered User.

Time Machine Backup must be configured as Guest .
