I have tried several times to get time machine to back up to WD My Cloud and get an error 2 failure. I have done my best to follow the manual instructions to the letter. Does someone have an answer or suggestion

I printed and did everything for the full reset of time machine but I still cannot get it to work. I’m still getting an error 2 message
Are you trying to backup to the default TimeMachineBackup share, or to another one?

I have just purchased a WD My Cloud and I’m trying to set it up.
So you turned TimeMachine on in the NAS Admin UI, you can see the default TimeMachineBackup share, but when you start backing up to the share it fails. Do I understand correctly?
How do you connect your computer to the network? If Wifi, try to use an Ethernet cable from your computer to your router and see if it makes any difference.
I finally got it!!! The manual says to go into the process of setting up Time Machine and it always gave the error 2 message. This morning I tried it as a registered user with my username and password and it setup the first try. Thanks for your help.

just got my first macbook pro (used) so far so good. this seems to be a nice feature of the MyCloud
