Solid White Light & Cannot Access!

I’ve had this My Cloud for several years. At least a couple of years ago I started having a hard time accessing it. I would try and give up and then a few months or year later try again and nothing.

Recently I’ve been desperately trying to find some files that may be on this drive. So now I’m trying to access it again. I have tried restarting it, holding in reset both for 4 seconds and then for restarting it and holding it in for 40 seconds. Nothing I have seen says whether it should be connected to the network when I do this or not. Everything is so vague instruction wise and there’s no shortage of people with issues. I just want my data and to never use this thing again. I do not care at all about using it on the network.

So, what is the best way to just access my data? I prefer not to access it via the network because I assume this may be more straight forward, but whatever is best is fine by me. I just want my data!!!

Right now it’s a solid white light. I’ve left it running a couple of days now connected to the network in hopes that maybe a blue light will appear. Prior to just letting it run I noticed that I was able to go to http://wdmycloud/UI/ and see that the data appears to be there but the device is stuck initializing. Right now it appears to be stuck initializing at the sign in screen.

I hate leaving my $5,300 editing computer running so this thing can scan for days or whatever it’s doing. I hear it running but there’s no evidence that anything is actually progressing. On the back where it plugs into the router the green light on the bottom is solid and the light on top blinks…

Now I’m better at backing things up redundantly. It’s just that a drive or two has failed over the years and there may be something on this my cloud that was on a failed drive… Please help!!! I’ve searched for days and it’s very draining.

Oh, and if I refresh/reload the http://wdmycloud/UI/ page it brings me further into the drive. But, then says “USB Internal Server Error (400255)”. The firmware is V04.05.00.00-315
