Smartware does not see MyCLoud

This message is for who ones like me that faced issues to backup windows OS based computers with WD Smartware and My Cloud.
The issue that I’ve faced is that WD Smartware (and WD Quick View) did not see My Cloud device, only showed Dropbox option.
After some deep investigation I realised that the issue was related with Windows and AntiVirus Firewall that were blocking the My Cloud UDP packages. First disabling the both FWs and the issue was solved. After I create rules to allow UDP packages from My Cloud device.
I dont recomend you to keep with your firewall down, is not a good idea.

I hope that this post helps you.

I had this problem also after a Smartware update. I rebooted the computer, re-started the Smartware and all it would see is the MyBook and Dropbox. Finally when I rebooted the modem and the router it seen the Cloud and displayed it in the Smartware.

I think this may have helped me. I have Norton Security. I went into Setttings/Firewall/GeneralSettings/NetworkSettings/DeviceTrust and I setup my WD My Cloud to Full trust via the IP Address. Is this the same thing you mentioned in your post or is there something else I need to do?
