Replacing WD RED drive with another does not cure Red LED issue?

Following 2.11.157 firmware update Drive 2 was indicating a red LED following reboot and restart, the problem remained. So I powered down drive and ordered a replacement. After fitting replacement and powering back up Drive 2 still shows Red LED. Apart from the fact that I may be £140 out of pocket for no reason (perhaps the drive is not the issue) Does anyone have any pointers as to the problem? or is it just the EX2 itself that is faulty.
FYI I’m using WD Red 4.00 TB NAS drives.

The reason the LED is still red is because you haven’t integrated the new drive into the enclosure. You have to access the dashboard and go to the storage menu and configure the drive, either rebuild the RAID 1 or add it as a JBOD. The red LED is just telling you it needs attention, not a failure.

thank you for your help. I thought simply physically replacing the drive would be sufficient to clear the LED. Anyway, really appreciate your response.

Thanks again

I’m not able to access the drive to go there. What do I need to do.

If you enable Auto-Rebuild by going to Storage → RAID in the menu.

It would have automatically rebuilt the RAID 0 or RAID 1 volume.
