Red light and not showing on network

Yesterday i couldnt access my files on the Mybook Live i have and i noticed there was a red LED there. Obviously red’s not good and i tried to access it via a html browser. (Even though //mybooklive/ never worked i could usually get to it via an ip address that showed up on mcaffee network browser). I cant access it all…

And i cannot access it as a network drive anymore. I have tried resetting it by pressing in the reset switch during booting but it just goes blue for about 20 secs and then goes right back to a red led. I am a little upset because all my pictures were on there…

Same here.   Red light, and the hard drive ‘trashes’ for 20 seconds, every 30 seconds…   a bit similar to booting noises.

(Man, those heads are loud…)

Sent eMail to WD Support, but if you have a solution let me know.    

I’m a Windows user; I read a solution that the drive could be accessed anyway with SSH… but have NO idea how to do that…   :slight_smile:

I would definitely contact our Tech support by phone to get this resolved. Sounds like an issue with the drive, so I would recommend making sure you have a backup ASAP of your data.
