Recommended for his use?

Hello

I have a mate who is after something to play his video media from his external WD passport drive and/or USB memory stick and needs nothing more.  I have been more than happy with my WD TV Live Hub’s ability to read any fomrat/codec I’ve thrown at it, so wondering if the ‘Play’ model is as good as the Hub in this regard?.  Also (probably a daft question) does the ‘Play’ support playback resuming?.

Hi, check page 145 of the manual to see the supported formats. To answer your second question, yes, the WDTV Play supports playback resume.

Looking at that and comparing with my Live Hub, I think I’ll advise him to pay a bit more and go with the WD TV Live Media Player, which lists the same suppoted formats as mine.
