RAID health degraded

Hello, first post on here. I’ve been away for a few days ands this morning, after 3 months of working well, have the following critical warnings on my 16tb mycloud mirror 2:

Volume Degraded
Volume 1 degraded. Please check status of drive by running Disk Test in Settings >> Utilities.

Code:208

Drive SMART Failure
The drive 2 self-check failed. Contact WD Support.

Code:3

And my RAID and disk status is:

RAID Health
Degraded

One or more RAID volumes are degraded.

Drive1

52 °C

Drive2
8 TB

I can still access the drive, using RAID1, and I’m assuming that my drive 2 has failed after such as short time. Going back via the vendors to get a replacement 8tb disk for this drive.

Is this the right assumption or is there anything else I can try?

Also if the vendor doesn’t honour the warranty can I pursue this back with WD?

Thanks

Tpm

Hello,

If you have the unit on RAID 1 and one drive fails, the RAID should be degraded.

Also if the vendor doesn’t honour the warranty can I pursue this back with WD? Try with the vendor first. If you have any issues, try contacting WD Support.

Thanks for that. The good news is that the vendor is honouring it but only to replace the whole thing not the failed drive so now need to find some storage to back it all up
