Hi! So, I have GoodSync installed on ONE Windows 10 system and I was able to get it working with the GoodSync Server for WD NAS, such that I can synchronize files between my Windows 10 system and the NAS, remotely. After getting this setup, I somehow only then noticed “14-day trial” notices in the GoodSync software. Given my busy schedule, I haven’t had a chance to use GoodSync very much, so I’m sure i’m well past the 14-day trial period.
I followed the instructions for installing the free version of GoodSync, but now I wonder if that “free” version was actually a trial version.
Thanks for the reply. So, I visited the page you posted the link to above and downloaded the client using the “Get GoodSync Free” button. The executable that god downloaded has the same name as the executable I already downloaded AND has the same name as the executable that will be downloaded using the “Download free trial” button, at the top of that page. Each time I downloaded an executable, the downloaded file size grew a little, so maybe there was an update to the installer.
I’ll try removing and installing the client I downloaded today. Given the “Get GoodSync Free” and “Download Free Trial” buttons point to the same executable, I’m not sure how the trial version will differ from the free version, for WD NAS users.
On the goodsyc site there is a link for a windows version and a different one for wd users. The file size appears similar/same at 46.40 mb despite the different installer file names.
GoodSync-v11-Setup.exe
GoodSync-v11-WD-Setup.exe
No idea if there is a difference between the two installer files.
