I am considering updating my MyCloud. Is it possible to put the Gen1 drives (stripe, not mirrored) into a Gen2 case and have the system up and running like before but with the new hardware?
My Gen1 is a Marvell Armada-370.

No, it is not possible. At least not while keeping your data since your volume is set to RAID 0.

I would have expected the RAID/AHCI controller to be unchanged between Gen 1 and Gen 2. If that had been the case it would have worked if the Gen1/Gen2 work with the same firmware and the endianness and kernel page size (64k binaries?) requirements are unchanged between Gen 1 and Gen 2.
Got quite a good offer for a Gen2 case but without the drives. Copying my 12 TB to another set of drives and copying them back when the old harddisks are inserted to a new case is not something I want to do to get the benefits of the dual core…
