Soooo I screwed up my mycloud doing apt-get updates and upon reboot, I was locked out via ssh and no webui. The box had a solid white light. Factory reset didn’t do anything. I opened up the box today and placed the drive into my computer. I then booted a gparted live usb stick and ran the commands from here. I then found the latest version of the WD my cloud firmware and extracted the rootfs.img file from the .deb file and wrote it over sda1 and sda2 with dd (only hard drive in my desktop at the time). When I plug in the disk now I no longer get a solid white light forever but instead a red light :[ Can I still save my device? I don’t care at all about the data. 2tb model. THANK YOU!
You can try restoring your drive using that 2TB virgin image: http://community.wd.com/t5/WD-My-Cloud/Here-is-WD-My-Cloud-2TB-virgin-disk-image/td-p/637769
You essentially do the same thing as you did with the parititons, but instead you do it for the whole drive.
HTH!
Ah my table looked nothing like this! I will try again, thanks!
Edit: It worked! Thank you!!! :] For anyone else who needs this, just do dd if=mycloud2tb.img of=/dev/sda or other disk. I also had to do a full wipe after via the webui and then I updated to the latest firmware to get rid of a SMART disk check error.

All those images are more or less broken
Have you done that yourself?
