Photo .HEIC file and location from IOS phone?

When I upload photos from iphone/ipad the photo has the HEIC file extension vs remaining .jpg

Also get uploaded into the root directory and not the photo folder,
anyway to correct these issues?

HEIC is the new format used by Apple for images shot (instead of JPEG)

Many cloud services does not support HEIC and most likely, MCH is one of them. The MCH treats the HEIC files as documents and not photos.

You can adjust your iPhone / iPad settings to shoot in JPEG instead of HEIC (Settings > Camera > Formats > Most Compatible).

Thankyou, WD support didn’t even know that! When I upload photos is it possible to create a sub-folder under photos and upload photos to that folder. It’s easier to keep each shooting event separate

What do you mean with NEW ?

“Introduced in 2015, HEIF was adopted by Apple in 2017 with the introduction of iOS 11, and support on other platforms is growing”.

So WD had 5 years to support it.
This is a killer feature I do not want to loose all the live-pictures taken since then.
