still having trouble getting to folders locally on my mac mini can acess them through the cloud app on the mac mini but not map them ?.
can access the dashboard ok i can connect to the drive though finder go network see the folders public smarter Time Machine but each folder i click into i get this message The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “Public” can’t be found. i am the sole user . also the WDmycloud app i can get into the folders to delete rename add etc ok but can’t map the drive through the network ?
would a factory reset system only solve the problem ?
also get as far select the volumes you want to mount on 192 ***.* *
then get the message
there was a problem connecting to the server 192.***.* *
not sure if mac has this issue but it sounds similier to a windows limitation.
I would try disconecting any share and clear credentials (if this applies to mac) reboot then try to connect to a non-public share 1st, then you can connect to public.
if this is not the issue a system only restore won’t hurt. shares & data are left in place, everything else is reset like new

how you disconect a share and clear credentials ? please
The nas was fine on my win 7 pc for twelve months since i purchased it but this year git rid of the pc for a mac mini went through set up everything was fine and volunes mounted i even had timemachine set up but decided to have timemachine on another external drive so deleted the timemachine back ups on the mycloud so im not sure if thats connected to my new problem of not being able to mount the volumes now ?.
ok the wdmycloud app i can get to the files on my mac through the desktop app . when i had win 7 i mapped the drives adding files that way . im trying to do the same on my mac mini map the drives but i get error The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “adam” can’t be found. or you dont have permissions on this server ?
yet i can acess through the mac app ? i guess i will just have to live with the way it is in regards to server im thinking 192.168.0.3 server could be changed somehow to try ?.
another thing to mention was after factory reset i downloaded the three available software wdquickview the desktop app for mac ( which im using to add files delete files etc from the nas currentley works fine ). the final one was wdmycloud set up which gets so far .it finds my drive then gos to checking network conections then the error comes you dont have permission to acsess this server with the warning the drive wil be unable to mount.
i cheked on another account with admin rights on my mac mini to see if my mac account was corruppted but i had the same results.
I would try disconecting any share and clear credentials
how do you clear credentials ? are thery stored in osx ? ( like get the mac to forget it as conected to the nas before so it wont rember any logins etc ) ?.
