I have a pretty big problem with my WD Passport 1TB external drive.
The HDD was bought last November and worked fine until 3 weeks ago, where it didnt mount on my Macbook Pro (10.6.8) or any other computer neither Mac nor Windows.
When i plug the harddrive in, it starts running perfectly fine (no scratching noise etc) and the lights go on but after about a minute it seems to restart, then run fine forever but isnt recognized.
I have tried contacting WD here in Germany but didnt really get any helpful advice beside that they MIGHT replace it.
The thing is i really need those files, by almost any means possible.
(Please no smart advices like “thats why you do a backup!” The HDD was the backup but the original files (CF Cards) got stolen.)
