Oops! Internet Explorer could not find mybooklive

It has been two weeks and I am still trying to figure out how to access my 2TB MyBookLive drive based on the user manual. Internet Explorer seems to not able to recognize the path http://MyBookLive. I am using Windows 7. That’s what I got:

Oops! Internet Explorer could not find mybooklive

Did you mean: mybooklive.net

I can access the folder through the included CD (Open MyBookLive). I can access the dashboard by typing the IP Address 192…

I can see the MyBookLive icon under network in windows exploer. But when I try to open the drive, it goes to My Documents.

I can back up my **bleep**.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

You need to make sure that your DNS server can find it!

If you’re using some DNS server out on the internet, chances are it will not work.

Check to see if your router can be a DNS proxy.

Can you elaborate?  I logon to my router, but I’m not sure what to check.

Sorry, every devices out there is different.  You’ll need to read the documentation for your router.

i just went into the settings for my computer’s wireless adapter, went to the tcp/ip properties, and manually entered the DNS of 8.8.4.4 and 8.8.8.8 (or was it vice versa).  that’s google’s dns.  after that, the dashboard would launch correctly from the notification area, or by going to http://mybooklive

prior to that, when I had DNS set to auto, it didn’t work. I don’t have any DNS set up on my router, so I assume it was tracking back to the cable company’s DNS server.
