Once my NAS goes into sleep or standby state I can no longer login via the Dashboard web application. Nothing I do from my Mac seems to bring it out of sleep mode. I finally had to do a hard reboot on the NAS.
I did upgrade my firmware to the latest available version right after I installed it so I’m on 04.00.00-607.
I’m close to taking this back to Best Buy and getting a refund.
Any word form WD customer support on how many of these issues are getting resolved? I really don’t have time for this **bleep**. I’ve already wasted many hours on this thing.

Hi jdeviney, we have passed this along to support.
I had similar issue and you may try to fix it via ssh, for example prevent goung to sleep by pinging your router. For me I’ve made a script which every 10 minutes pings my router and writes results to log.
Theoretically the behaviour can be more sophisicated, for example there can be a script which checks for ping’s result, and if it is not success, then reboot the device…
