Auto Login off
ReadyNAS share level “share”, workgroup: “HOME”
Login and password: anonymouse, no PW
Tyring to connect as Network Share
I can see the server.
Then get login message, leave as anonymouse, no PW
Then “There is no media in the current folder”.
Not the first time I’ve had to troubleshoot a media head, server, network, etc. But this thing is soooo closed, there’s hardly anything to tickle!!!
H E L P ! ! !
I should mention that before I get the No media message, I get the preview display and the spinning blue “wheel” for a couple of seconds.
GENERALLY, that indicates a permissions mismatch on the shared volumes.
My Plus will do that if NONE of the NAS Shares match the credentials provided, but if even ONE of them matches, then only those shares will show (which is the correct behavior.)
My NAS doesn’t have the ability to set a userid of “anonymous” without a password; the volumes must be marked as having GUEST priviledges (and I set it to READ ONLY for Guest.)
Hmm, interesting. SO I can see if I can set anonymouse without a PW in the ReadyNAS, the problem is, I don’t want to have to change my access from shared to user because it would mean reconfiguring my whole house : (
Hi Guys & Gals, not sure if you have resolved this issue or not. Anyway it took me a while. It has to do with sharing your folder. I had everthing shared but the WD kept saying the was no media in the current folder. Step by step… Right click on the fiolder where the movies or pictures are. Go to properties select share. Initially I entered my login name and Administrator to share…didn’t work. Then went to Advance Sharing selected (share this folder) box…didn’t work
Then finnally in ADVANCE SHARING - SELECT- PERMISSIONS-ADD– ENTER- EVERYONE- OK…worked great for Windows 7.
