No Backup Target in the WD Smartware Window

After reloading the Smartware Install file, I can now open the Smartware Program and my HP WIN10 Laptop shows in the left hand box as the Backup Source. But, my Passport 1TB External Drive is not shown in the right hand box as the Backup Target, even though it is plugged into the USB port on the laptop. The Home, Settings and Help tabs on the top line are lit up, and the Backup and Retrieve tabs are dark.
