New TimeMachineBackup share

The original default ‘TimeMachineBackup’ share was deleted some time ago, but now I would like to backup my mac. I understand the original share had settings that ensured it wasn’t indexed - apart from making sure ‘Media Serving’ is off in the share settings, does anyone know what is/was special about the original ‘TimeMachineBackup’ share?

Trying to make sure performance and speed is tip-top for these large backups.

Thanks in advance!
