New Release - Firmware Version 3.08.14 for WD TV Live Hub (10/29/12)

Issue registered.

Rolled back but the issue continue. Origin of the problem by ZDF?

People in Germany has also this issue?

Same here. I am on a wired network, and update over that everytime, never had an incident.  This one seemed to go smoothly, no hicups.   video_ts’s play fine (the only format I run, I ripped all my dvd’s to this format).   Netflix seems ok.   Pandora fine.  Probably try Vudu soon too (really the only services I  use regularly) Still can’t get thumbnails with the media library turned on, starting to get comical that this is still a problem, but everything else I have tried seems fine.  The thumbnail issue is that polish that makes this device great, and it is disappointing that we have had several fw updates since this broke and it still has not been fixed.

Everything’s working fine.

“Resolved skip to desired time is not available for certain video containers.”

That is fixed. It was getting to be annoying.

Does this version fix the component drop out problem

Guys i want to report that the new firmware is actually not working properly,

i have a 2tb WD Harddrive connected to the Hub via USB, when i start up the hub (full boot , not from sleep) because i always turn my hub completely off, the hub hangs for about 5 minutes every single time(its stuck on the WD Loading screen), i rolled back to the previous firmware ( 3.14.07) and the problem is gone.

anyone else with a harddrive hooked up to the hub expirience this everytime they reboot the hub?

i want to have the newest firmware but if it introduces a bug of this magnitutude where i have to wait 5 minutes for the device to start up then no thanks lol

NO!

M2TS and MTS files from Sony HX9 (Full HD) isnt working!!!

Netflix Brazil doenst work!!!

And it never will

The chipset cannot handle the files it creates, so commenting on every new firmware will not fix it, its a hardware limitation. You will need to recode it to get it to work.

I have not used this, not have your camera,  but it came up in Google.

it is not really stuck, it is booting up and gathering the files from your external hard drive and compiling the library.

This takes about 4 minutes. I don’t really think it is a bug it is just the way it is handling the entire booting procedure.

and yes it is very annoying but at least it is recognizing the HDD again which it barely did in the previous version

For the support for Hauppague WinTV tuners, does this firmware also allow recording from the tuner to the WDTV Live Hub?

Has anyone tried this? I don’t have one of these tuners, but am ready to buy one if recording is supported.

Thanks!

Wow my WDTV really had a mare with this update - did not like it one bit. Settings went crazy, nothing remembered. Network couldn’t connect. Had to restart a total of 5 times to get it ‘working’.

Rolled back to earlier firmwares. Geeze, lack of user testing on these firmwares or what

But some firmwares ago, dont remember the number, these files worked properly!!! I will get the firm number and ill try to rollback to that version!!

Thanks for your help!!!

So i am correct right? with this new firmware, it takes about 5 minutes for the Hub to turn ON if there is a Harddrive connected to the hub via USB right, this is not the case with firmware 3.07.14, with a 2TB harddrive connected to the HUb via USB , it takes about 30 seconds to boot up and it doesn’t freeze ond the WD LOADING screen.

I am using a Slingplayer a lot .

It works fine until anyone starts using internet from the same router, then I get a "Connection lost "code 25  message.

Have to connect again and again.

It hapens constantly while using th einternet for anything else.

Tried it in different house, the same problem.

I am very happy with the picture quality on slingplayer when working.

Slingcatcher takes all bandwith regardless what resolution you select.

WD takes only about 600 Kbps at lowest quality mode, good enough for a regular TV.

NO!

You know, I don’t normally complain in public forums but I feel I need to on this one.

One of the main reasons I purchase the WDC unit was the component video outputs, as my Runco 5801 doesn’t have HDMI.  This has been a known issue through MANY firmwares now, and it seems we’re no closer to having it addressed or solved.  If it was an “extra” or new feature that is still having the bugs worked out, then I could understand it, but this is BASIC SUPPORT for the hardware that was advertised, and built into the box.

This really isn’t the support, or customer service that I’ve come to expect from Western Digital, and I hope that it can be addressed sometime soon.

Thank you.

This firmware doesn’t work using WD TV LIVE HUB as Media Server and a Philips TV as Media Client.

I have just opened a Trouble and also I have performed rollback to the previous firmware.

Thank you.
