Really wish they would provide more info and expand on “Resolved Several User Interface Issues”
This is because even they are not sure what they have done and what they were looking to do
Haha… You guys are cold. Actually, it means that we fixed a couple of what we thought were small issues that weren’t necessarily major issues; and they all had to do with the User Interface. So, we lumped them together. And yes, Joey, I will pass this along as a recommendation.
**bleep** I’ll give this Beta a shot! I’m tired of rebooting the system to get the media library to recognize recent uploads.
Took a while to get this to load but it seems to be running fine. I just dumped a few files on it to see if it would compile the media library without rebooting and so far so good.
Up date: 11/10/12 this Beta update is not getting it. One day it allows the Media library to repopulate and the next it doesn’t! Delete items and they show them being deleted but the still exist unless you reboot or mess with the media library on on function.
I’m going back to the older FW and turning the upgrade button off!
Was it necessary to do a device reset to factory defaults when updating firmware to 3.08.14, or is it clear sailing without? Normally I’ve done the triple reset routine before and after each firmware update. I’m getting kind of tired of doing it if I don’t have to. Just thought I’d find out if anyone has had to do it for this update.

You shouldn’t need to do a reset. However, sometimes it does help to do one if it seems like something gets messed up.
The update went without a hitch. I always update with a thumb drive, however. I’ve had issues before with other updates trying to do it via the network that has left me “gun-shy.” I’ve opted for the “safe route” since.
Now it’s just a matter of time and usage to see if everything works right since the update… No device reset required… yet.
after update hub doesn’t see my shares from windows 7 desktop anymore. I did reset and reconfigured hub again still nothing and my windows 7 desktop doesn’t see hub. I checked i have connection to the network and internet.
Wouldn’t mind trying the new Hauppauge stuff (if its supported in the UK) but Article 5688 doesn’t, as suggested in the Release notes, list supported tuners. Is there any documentation anywhere that shows what this can do and how to use it ?
That would appear a rather optimistic evaluation of this Firmware update to say the least! Have not tried it myself and do NOT intend to either, but despite this, it would significantly enhance WD’s current stance on theming if further information was shared regarding the point raised by JoeySmyth-
Resolved several translation and user interface issues.
Supports Hauppauge in select countries. WinTV tuner required. Compatible tuner listed in Knowledge Base Article 5688.
I see that an earlier post showed more detail, but the Knowledge Base does not list any Hauppauge devices.
What exactly does the Hub support in regard to Hauppauge tuners? Does this mean a USB stick tuner can work with the Hub? Will it save ATSC recordings to the Hub? I’m just looking for some clarification.
