Hi,
just bought and plugged in 2TB mycloud to my router. Got the blue light no problem.
Ran the WD MY CLOUD Setup program but it failed to find the device. Looked in finder, and there it is and I can access the public directories.
Have rebooted device and my macbook, but no luck.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

So is it just that the setup program does not find the mycloud.
From what you say I assume that you can access the drive.
Can you also access the dashboard?

Type in http://wdmycloud.local/ to safari to get the dashboard, right?
Nope, nothing, nada…!

Do you know what network address the mycloud is using, if so try accessing the dashboard via that. It will be something like 192.168.0.101

Hi RichUK,
after several resets, I finally managed to get the scan to work… but it failed again later in the setup.
I tried your suggestion and have now got into dashboard - so thanks for that.
Not sure its working 100% tho - may get back to you later - will try to use the dashboard now!
cheers

Just to finish the story…
I decided to read the manual (doh!) and found a troubleshooting tip - to attach my computer to the router via ethernet cable. And voila, wd setup, wd quick view and itunes server all started working (none did before).
So I can assume the problem lies with my wifi connection and not with the wd box.
Which is kind of a relief for the wd mycloud box, but maybe another expensive item to buy now - sigh!
Thanks for your help!
