New 3T Complete Drive Test Failed @ 90%

Hi,
I just got a 3T WD My Passport EX HD portable.
I was running baseline tests.
The complete drive test failed at somewhere at 90%

  • I think because my laptop went to sleep.
    –Any hints on how to prevent that? Does the EX HD not keep it awake?
    It did not give me more information other than the drive had failed. I know it was at least past 80% tested when I went to bed.
    -Are there logs? If so, where are they?

Opinion based question:
If there are no logs, is there a reason to run a baseline test before operations?

In order to better assist you, could you please provide the operating system, also what tool you used to diagnose the drive, normally some tools do save logs.
