Network Share does not see any folders on Network windows XP pc

Hi guys,

OK so what I have is XP PC networked with my laptop and WD TV live HUB ( + wireless usb adapter)  under the same workgroup. On my Main pc I can see WD tv live hub on “My network Places”. I can transfer files to and from the drive on the wdtc live hub  no problem there. I can access the web wireless on the wdtc hub as well. The only issue is viewing Network storage or media server? IT says " No Storage Present" ?

please help… all connects are fine and I even tried the admind tools network servies network DDM trrick and enabled it… that did not work…

PLEASE HELP… thanx

Look here, I had the same exact issue you had when I first spun up my HUB.  I figured this issue was specific to the OS(Vista 64) until people with Vista64 OS’s began to chime in saying that they had no issues.  Since I had planned on upgrading to Seven anyway I went ahead and wiped then installed.  Once I installed I went up to check and see if my HUB recognized my network shares and sure enough…problem resolved!

I’m not telling you to change OS’s kuz I know that’s a pain in the a**, but that is what I had to do.  Since the HUB allows only two drives with no USB support, the network shares option was extreamly important to me, so it was worth the upgrade to Seven!!  Good Luck…

A few people have said that but thats wayyy too much work and thats not a good option for me. Well anyways I scrapped the network shares path and went down to media server way. I downloaded a free version of TVersity and boom right away it worked didn’t have to mess around with any settings. now I can stream any file or folder on my live hub from my pc through wireless.  So this was the fastest solution to my problem and I encourage others to do so to avoid headaches
