Recently I noticed my MyCloudEX2Ultra status lights were both red which I thought was bad news, however I found I could access all shares from all my computers and read/write to folders there-in. I wasn’t sure what that means, maybe a S.M.A.R.T. reporting thing?
So today I notice the status lights are now both blue! I do remember getting an email recently about my NAS getting an upgrade, could that be responsible?
I logged onto it & the Disk Status shows both 4TB disks to the healthy!
This is freaking me out since there is some stuff on there I would hate to lose. Should I replace the drives? I would like to hear from someone who’s been down this road before, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I take it they are blue and that is the color they should be, not green.
Thanks for your response, I re-read my post & saw I had made a couple mistakes, which I have corrected. So, is my issue hardware going bad, or is it a software glitch related to the S.M.A.R.T. reporting?
I have two WDMYCLOUDS single bay. The oldest is a 1st generation and the second is a 2nd generation OS5. Both are still working fine. I do have many backups of all my data.

Here is what SMART stands for.
SMART Definition - What is SMART monitoring?
As long as your device shows blue LEDs your disk should be alright.
The blue Led on my 1st generation went out several years ago, but it still works fine. This image shows the status of my device. What does your dashboard show for yours? Click on, tap, or activate image to enlarge it.
I ran a full diagnostic on this NAS and it says everything is good:
I’ve looked at the SMART data & really don’t have the knowledge to interpret what it says.

I think I put this in service in 2019, so these drives do have some time on them. I’m OK with replacing them, but I wish the device wasn’t so vague on their status. Both status lights were red for a few days and then magically became blue again, and that was my initial question, is this some known issue?
Thanks for your feedback!
