EX2-Ultra OS5: Red LED of Disk1 no abnormal SMART entries

I noticed, that Disk1 led switch from blue to red. Diagnostic entry shows “Laufwerksstatus Störung” and Diskstatus bad.
I oppened a support case with Screenshots and Systemreport.
Looked by myself at the Logfiles but could’nt find any eye-catching. So I decided to perform a reboot and LED is now blue again and systemstatus is good.
Has anyone similar behavior seen?

Hi Norbert,

I have just encountered a similar issue. There was a red light on Disk1 in my EX2 Ultra and it was reporting as bad for a couple of days but couldn’t see anything obviously different between the two drives SMART info. Then today the light has returned to blue and SMART is reporting as good again?

Annoyingly I have just ordered a replacement drive, and even paid extra for priority shipping with it nearly being Christmas, which should be here today and I’m not even sure if I need to use it now?

What did you do? Did you learn anything that may be of use?

Hello Pete, as I wrote before, after the reboot, all disks where fine. Since there the issue did not occur anymore, so I have’nt replaced the disk.

My drive has been fine ever since so I guess I’ll just keep the drive ready for when one of the drives fail for real. I just wonder now whether the last drive I replaced had actually failed???

I noticed there was a firmware update on the day the drive returned to good status so maybe it was falsely being recorder as bad and they fixed something?
