Mycloud no UI. Again

Hello guys. Recently I was needed to do some changes and opened UI. I don’t know what i was thinking of when Mycloud adviced me to update firmware and I did it! After update all was ok, but these day later Mycloud was not turned off properly cuz lack of electricity. After boot i can’t access UI, chrome and firefox shows white page, IE shows 500 error. So I did factory reset twice and there is no result. I got  similar problem with my first cloud. I would like to update firmare again, but i got no ssh connection now. Is there any way to fix it?

P.S. I can see it in network, SMB share is working fine.

If you have the My Cloud App then open that and see what shows as you IP address. Make a note of this.

Now right click on the WD My Cloud Dashboard shortcut, then click on Properties and see if the address is the same. If not, change it. Be sure to click Apply and OK. See example image below.

IP address is correct, Even if i try to open “http:wdmycloud/UI” I got the same problem.

Haven’t you tried to install transmission under v4 via apt-get ?

If yes, then hopefully you still have ssh access, otherwise you will need to decide on either hack your drive or send it back to WD…

However, I’d say that if WD will make their new release of firmware soon you can wait and allow to update from Android, there is such an option. Hopefully it will replace the firmware and solve your problems.

the correct URL should be http://wdmycloud/UI from Windows assuming you have not changed the device name

the manual say it is http://wdmycloud.local/UI from mac

if you ping wdmycloud what IP address does it return?

If that works, then it baffles me as to why a “true” factory reset isn’t available via the android or Windows apps.

E.g. press a button and wipe drive + redownload and reinstall latest firmware (or firmware specified by user).

*EDIT: With  respect to OP, I believe he has SSH disabled. Unfortunately I’m in the same boat and as far as I can tell the only uptions are wait for the next firmware update, RMA the devoice or void the warranty.

As I said, i got no ssh now, but maybe there is any option how I can enable it or connect to a secret port?

Dude, im not lame, adress is right, I got it in static for many years.

Is it possible to reset firmware after Transmission installation with errors?

this new FW is a JOKE
