WD My Cloud after Firmware (4.00.00-607) Dashboard not working (error 500)

Hey guys.

I have just updated the WD My Cloud Firmware. after firmware update i am not able to access the dash board.

i have tried all the possible solution to reset the drive but nothing works.

even after the Physical factory reset by pressing the reset button for 40 second my data is not deleted from the drive. 

i am able to access the drive shares. but my SSH is disabled.

Do  you have the window app on your computer? (It shows drive health, temperature, allows you to shut it down)

If you go into that you will see the option for Dashboard. That is the only way I am able to get into it now after  the update.

I already tried that but that app is also opening the same URL to open the dash board.

My WDmycloud updated automatically and now any action that requires access to the WDmycloud takes forever, most of the time it doesn’t even work - it just goes on and on with nothing happening, not even a time out error.  I have the wdmycloud.local/UI/ page open, and the content scan section has been “scanning” for hours.  I have rebooted the drive without effect, even that simple action took half an hour to complete.  I can’t access anything on the drive now, I was looking forward to the new update hoping it would fix a lot of the annoying functional issues the drive had.  It was better before the update.  Come on WD lift your game, this is not a cheap product…

I would like highlight few more things. what i experiance after reset.

  • again tried to reset the drive using 40 sec process now finally drive is reset to factory mode.
  • All of my existing users are deleted
  • All of my shares become public shares
  • All of my data is still there and i am able to access all the data using windows my cloud app and network share
  • twonky media server is running 
  • SSH is disabled

 

but still i am not able to access the dashboard.

 

someone please confirm if the drive is reset to factory setting then autoupdate option is enable by default or not.

I use a mac to copy an 1GB file to the My Cloud it tooks over 6 minutes

nornally only take 1 minute with the old version sq-030401-230-20140415.deb

It is very slow to open up a folder

how to downgrade back?

I’m exactly in the same situation.

I’ve opened a case to WD but not answer yet. 

¿did you solve the problem? ¿How?
