I have been trying to get my DL2100 working again, followed the guide of several posts on here but to no avail. I have read up on the error this model has, but I still hope that it can be saved.
The issue is that the blue light in front keeps blinking while the fan runs on full blast. Every 4-5 minutes the NAS shuts down & tries to boot up again, but it fails every time. I tried resetting the OS with a flash drive that I formatted to FAT32 with the uImage & uRamDisk on there, but still nothing. 40 second system wipe also doesn’t seem to do anything.
I just hope that I have been using the wrong files and that it will be just a simple fix.
Can anyone help me get the right file or find a different solution?

I was not thinking it was possible to boot a WD NAS from a flash drive?
The “Atom Sudden Death” syndrome really is a thing. . . .and the result will be a bricked unit. The HDD’s, however, would be unaffected. There are several ways to recover the data.
