MyCloud Dashboard Login and Remote Login not working!

I have a MyCloud Personal Cloud storage 4tb drive…

It has worked fine since Christmas.  I can log in via my computer Explorer screen and put my username and password in and get to my files.  

However.

I cannot now log in either as me or Admin to the cloud via the Dashboard or remote login!  Neither can my husband who has been using the remote access for a while now, it refuses the login and password for him, me or admin.

Is this a case of having to reset?  This thing has been complicated from start to finish!

Hi there and welcome to the WD community.

Try to reset the unit to see if you can access the dashboard again on the unit. This is not normal, but try to reset hopefully this will give you access the dashboard since it will take of the admin password.

Welcome to the club of never ending problems with this drive.

i feel your pain and hope you resolve the issue.Im a long time user of these drives but recently they have tipped me over the edge with their problems.

have you tried to change the network group name? This worked for me - if you change your pcs workgroup name to WORKGROUP if it isn’t already. Re-start computer and then try dashboard? 

Also i found with the firewire update (if you have this to update automatically you may have not noticed this) is that the admin account gets reset. To sort this out do a system restore which is slightly different to the reset. 

  1. unplug the WD my could completely. 

2. at same time as plugging it back in press reset button for 40seconds. Leave the wd my cloud to restore until it has a blue light - this might take a while.

I’ve been having the same problem.
I set it up months ago but never used it. Now I would like to access the dashboard and I don’t remember the admin pass.
I tried 4 times to reset it, and it seems to reboot. Still, with blank password or admin/Admin it doesn’t recognize.
I’m using mac and one of the things that I realized is that I can access to the logon site by http://wdmycloudmirror and not by http://wdmycloudmirror.local/ as they originally advise.

Can any of you help out?

Perform a 4 second reset. That should reset just the admin password to blank. Make sure to use the correct admin name if you have changed it from the default “admin” previously. If that fails, perform a 40 second reset which resets the administrator name back to “admin” and resets the admin password to default (blank).

Hi there, I have had the same problem today 15/04/2020 and it was the adblock. When I deactivated it, MyCloud started working.

Maybe this is others case :grin:. I hope it works for you.
