MyCloud 4tb creates huge sync history files

Hi,

I have approximately 700gb of data stored on my MyCloud 4gb. However, the storage space is completely used up due to the versioning files stored in .WDSyncHistory (approx. 3.3TB) and I no longer synchronize files.

As I do not really need the versioning feature, is there any way to disable this feature in the MyClouds preferences or to limit the versioning to a specific time range? I couldn’t find any information on that subject in the manual…

The solution is to dump the WD software and use a third party sync program like Free File Sync because currently one cannot (apparently) turn off the versioning feature of the WD Sync program.

The problem of the WD Sync program versioning filling up the My Cloud via the .WDSyncHistory folder has been complained about in the past. Do a subforum search for .WDSyncHistory there are several threads on it.
