Mybook Live Duo Solid yellow for days, not accessible

Hello. I have been using the Mybook Live Duo for several years without major problems, but since a feew weeks ago it has become silent and the led is solid yellow, and every now and then turns shortly into blue and than yellow again, and the drives are not accessible through my windows 10, or ipad. I guess it’s dead. Is it possible to recover the data from the HDs, by inserting them into a new Mybook duo (24TB)? If yes, how do I proceed? Thank you for your help.

You cannot attach MBLD disk directly to your PC or use an external enclosure to access the data, because the disk in encryped by WD firmware.

It can be done. The encryption key is stored in a block near the end of the raw disk (raw = not in the enclosure). That key is encrypted, based on your password, or if none is used, on a factory-set key.
