Hi guys,

So my WD Passport Ultra 3To was working fine on sunday. Today, I wanted to open it but once it connects it to my laptop, I hear the “connection” noise done by me PC and few seconds later, my WD Passport Ultra starts to make a strange noise which it has never done before and my laptop never recognizes the external drive… I feel like it’s broken :frowning:

What can I do? I don’t want all my data to be lost…

It seems that your WD passport ultra is physically damaged and required a technical checkup. The noise from the storage device directly indicates that it is physically damaged, it can be a read-write head issue, damaged actuator or any other part of the drive which is not working fine. I suggest you to bring your drive to the hard drive repairing center as early as possible.
