My passport wireless pro not connecting and all lights blinking

Hi everyone, I need your help. When I turn on the WIFI I can’t find it on the Iphone even though I have the app Mycloud. After few minutes, all lights start blinking all at the same time and I can’t get anything out of it…
It’s the third device I get that has this issue.
I really need your help please!!
Thank you
Lulu

Download the complete user manual for your model from WD support. ind instructions to reset/restore the System defaults. by pressing the two buttons in front at the same time for around 10 seconds when unit is ON. I will begin the reset and can take a while. You then need to set it up like new again. Syatem reset will not delete your data. Read the manual for the details of all this and good luck…

Got these system log messages just before it craps out. Looks like a serious bug to me. Reading large directory contents into stack memory perhaps? Can we get a fix please?

This is a user to user forum. I am a user, not WD Support. You need to contact them about these log messages.

I’ve sent in a support request. My guess is that this is caused by having too many music files loaded in the drive. The Twonky server and/or kernel crashes as a result. I removed my Music folder as well as the twonky database then restarted and so far it’s staying up. Not so useful though since it’s supposed to operate as a useable DLNA server.

Not sure there is such thing as “too many music files” stored. I have hundreds of albums stored (over 13,000 tracks) and all is OK. Music on my device is a copy of my iTunes Media folder; a well organized folder…

Hmmm… well that’s good to know. I’ll have to try it again and see what happens.
Are you running the Wireless Pro? v1.04.17 ?

I have the original MPW. No issues at all. I also have a small capacity SSD model I will be putting only movie files on. So far, so good.

Mine is MPWPro and every time I try to copy my Music folder over it crashes.

Are you connecting it to computer USB? IF you are copying via wireless don’t, I never do.

I’ve tried both. When going wireless it usually crashes in the middle of the copy. When on USB the copy completed fine and then it crashes a minute or two after switching back to wireless.

I don’t know what to tell you other than wired is always better than wireless; more complications can arise with wireless and it is usually slower. Good luck getting your problems solved.
